Notification Banner UI guidelines
Overview
The Notification Banner provides a way for admins to broadcast important announcements (e.g., outages, maintenance, or updates) to all users at the top of the application. Users can dismiss the banner, ensuring it remains hidden until a new announcement is created or the current one is deleted.
Key Characteristics
Appears at the top of the application (prominent placement).
You can choose from four styles—Outage, Maintenance, Info, or Success—to match the urgency or type of message.

A concise message is displayed, which can include an optional hyperlink (opening in a new tab) with a customizable label.
Users can dismiss the banner, which is remembered (persisted) on a per-user basis.
Only one banner can be active (visible) at any given time.
Banners must have defined start/end dates for time-based display.
Admins can create, update, delete, and otherwise configure the banner through the theme application.
Creating and Editing a Notification Banner
An admin can access a simple form (found in the theme application) to manage the Notification Banner. This form allows:
Specify Title and Message: A clear headline and description for the notification.
Choose a Style: Select from the available banner types (Outrage, Maintenance, Info, or Success).
Add a Link and Label: Optionally provide a URL and a custom label (e.g., “Learn More”) that users can click for further details.
Preview the Banner: Before publishing, a preview shows exactly how the banner will look to end users.
After creating the banner, any of these fields can be edited at any time to update the active notification. To ensure that all users see the revised version, dismissals must be manually reset.
