Data Organization in Unique

Search API

The Search API fully respects all the access controls.

Also, the search can limit via SmartRules (Unique QL) the access to the different folders.

So a search can define and reduce the access to the data on purpose to get better search results.
E.g. News Tool:

  • You only search for news in the news folder (even though the user might have access to much more)

  • You only search for publications that have on the metadata a published date younger than 4 months.

Integrations

All integrations can define the access to the files directly so they can map the access control of the underlying system to the access control of Unique.

It is not required that the access control is also mapped but often desired.

One can map data in any folder, or create folders and define the access control.

If no access control is defined, the information from the folder above is inherited.
